In an appropriately lighthearted approach to the serious subject, veteran Christian artist Francesca Battistelli sings about rejecting fear and futility to embrace her identity in Christ.
Fear colors everything in the life of victims of abuse and neglect. Some children deal with their fear by disassociating from their feelings, others by acting out—by being “tough” and aggressive, trying to please everyone, and lots of variations in between. Defense mechanisms based on fear can be complex, varied, interwoven, and stubbornly challenging to “unlearn.”
Chronic fear compromises our ability to take in information rationally and clearly. Childhood trauma directly affects brain development and can lead to lifelong challenges. Please join us in praying for the young women of Hannah Grace Homes to embrace peace and healing in Christ—as each of them break up with their fear of man.
We hope you enjoy Mrs. Battistelli’s fun and hopeful song about a lesson we can all benefit from. “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness” (Isaiah 41:10).
